Terms of Service
Last updated October 10, 2026
The short version
These terms are the agreement between you and SiteCreatorEngine. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.
In plain words: we give you a tool that builds and hosts a website for your business. What you put on that site is yours and is your responsibility. What the tool itself is made of stays ours. Either of us can end this, and we try not to surprise you when we do.
What the service is
An account, a builder, an editor, hosting on a subdomain of this site (connecting a domain you own is planned for the paid plans), and a set of tools around the site: a blog writer, enquiry handling, a customer list, bookings, analytics and assistants.
Some of these are on your plan and some are not. What each plan includes is stated on the pricing page, and that page is part of these terms.
We change and improve the service as we go. Features appear, and occasionally one is withdrawn. If we withdraw something you rely on, we will say so beforehand.
Your account
One person, one account, and you are responsible for what happens under it. There is no password to steal, but the sign-in link we email you is as good as one - treat it that way and do not forward it.
You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and you must give us an email address that reaches you. Everything we need to tell you goes there.
If somebody else has been in your account, tell us and we will cut off the old links.
To help with your website, our support team can sign in to your account for up to an hour. You see every such visit, with its date and time, in your profile. During a visit nobody from our team can pay, cancel your plan, delete anything or change your team.
What you may not do with it
Break the law with it, or help someone else do so.
Publish content that is stolen, deceptive, hateful, or sexual involving anyone under 18.
Send bulk email through it to people who never asked to hear from you.
Attack it: load-test it, break into it, scrape it, or try to reach another customer's data.
Resell the service itself or rebuild it from the inside out.
We will suspend an account doing any of this, and if the law requires it we will say so to whoever is entitled to ask.
Who owns what
Your content - your words, your photographs, your logo, your customer records - stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store it, to show it to visitors of your site, and to back it up.
The output of the models on your pages is yours to use, keep and edit. Please read it before it goes out: it can be wrong in ways that look confident, and once it is published it speaks for your business, not for ours.
The service itself - the code, the design, the section library, the name - stays ours. Using the service does not transfer any of it to you.
If you send us an idea for how to improve it, we may act on it without owing you anything for it.
Money
Free plans exist and have limits. Paid plans are billed in advance, and the price and limits are on the pricing page.
Where a plan says unlimited, it means as much as a real business needs. To keep the service fair for everyone, unusually heavy use - for example thousands of automated enquiries a month - can be paused until the month rolls over, and we will tell you when that happens.
Payments are handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and the merchant of record, so your receipts and invoices come from them. Each paid plan belongs to one business.
A paid plan renews on its own until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time and keep what you paid for until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting a business cancels its plan the same way.
Changed your mind? Write to us within 30 days of your first payment for a plan and we refund it in full. The business then moves to the Free plan straight away; a domain that is already connected keeps working, and a new one cannot be added.
After those 30 days we do not refund a period already started, unless the law where you live says otherwise or we broke something badly enough that a refund is the fair answer.
Prices change sometimes. We tell you before that touches your next renewal.
Sites your customers see
A site you publish here is a public site, and you answer for it: for the claims on it, for the prices on it, for the photographs on it, and for the data your visitors leave on it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle that data on your behalf.
If the site sells something or takes bookings, you need your own terms for that - ours are about the tool, not about your trade.
When it breaks
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will never be down, never be wrong, or fit a purpose you have in mind but have not told us about.
We keep backups and we watch the servers, but you should keep your own copy of anything you cannot bear to lose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost data or business interrupted, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the thing you are complaining about happened. If you paid us nothing, that figure is nothing - which is the honest consequence of a free plan.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and in some countries that is a real list.
Ending it
You can close your account whenever you like, from the settings, and your sites go offline with it.
We can end this if you break these terms, if we are required to, or if we stop offering the service. Except for a serious breach, you get notice first, and for a paid plan a refund of the part you have not used.
After the account is closed we delete your content. Ask us first if you want an export - afterwards is too late.
The rest
If one clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays.
Not enforcing something once does not mean giving it up.
We may update these terms; the date at the top changes and, when the change matters, we email you before it takes effect.
