SiteCreatorEngine vs Squarespace
Both start from a description of your business. Squarespace is strong on design and selling online; we focus on service businesses, with booking, a customer list and assistants built into the site.

Where Squarespace is the better choice
- Stores that want full ecommerce with a built-in payment processor on every plan.
- Businesses that need advanced scheduling through Acuity: calendar syncing, text reminders and payments.
- Sellers who need third-party tools for tax, drop shipping and inventory through Extensions.
Where SiteCreatorEngine is the better choice
- Booking is part of the site, not a separate Acuity subscription.
- Right-to-left sites for Hebrew and Arabic; Squarespace says it has no built-in right-to-left text.
- A visitor accessibility panel on every site, on top of a design built to WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Assistants draft enquiry replies and articles and wait for your approval before anything goes out.
What it does not do yet
- No online store: payments are for bookings only.
- No third-party plugins or app market: what the product does is built in.
- A booking slot holds one customer per person on your team: group classes are not supported yet.

Questions
Is SiteCreatorEngine a good Squarespace alternative?
For a small service business that needs a site with booking and a customer list, yes: both are built in and the first version is ready in minutes. For the jobs listed under where Squarespace is the better choice, it is the better pick today.
Can I move my site over?
There is no import yet. Describe your business in a few words and the builder makes a new site in minutes; then paste in the texts you want to keep and add your own photos.
Can I sell products, as on Squarespace?
No: there is no store. Customers can pay for a booking through Stripe, but not buy products. If selling products is the main job of your site, Squarespace is the better choice today.
