Connect your own domain
You can use a domain you already bought anywhere, like yourbusiness.com. You add two records at the company where you bought it, and your site opens on that address with a secure https connection. Email and everything else on the domain stay as they are. Your own domain is part of the Starter and Business plans.
Before you start
- A domain you own, bought at any registrar - GoDaddy, Namecheap, ukraine.com.ua or any other.
- A login to that registrar: you will add two records there.
- About ten minutes. After that the records usually take effect within a few minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours.
Connect it step by step
- Open your dashboard, then Site settings -> Domains.
- Choose "Connect a domain you already own".
- Type your domain, for example yourbusiness.com, and press Next.
- Choose "Manual configuration". If your registrar supports one-click setup, you will also see "Quick connect" - it adds the records for you.
- In a new browser tab, sign in to your registrar and open the DNS settings of your domain.
- If the Domains screen lists records to delete, delete exactly those. They point your domain somewhere else and would compete with ours.
- Add the two records the screen shows: an A record for the root (@) and a CNAME record for www. Copy the values with the Copy buttons - they are unique to your site.
- Come back and press "Check now". When both records show OK, the status changes to Connected.
What happens next
- Your site opens on your domain with https. Your free address keeps working and sends visitors to your domain.
- We check the records every hour. If they disappear, we email you, so a change at your registrar never takes your site down silently.
- Email on your domain is not touched: we only add the records the website needs.
If something does not work
- "Name" at your registrar may be called Host, Hostname or Alias. If it does not accept @, leave the field empty.
- Some registrars need the www value with a dot at the end. The Domains screen tells you when yours does.
- A record shows "Wrong value": the old value is still cached somewhere. Wait an hour and press "Check now" again.
- Still stuck after 48 hours? Ask your assistant, or write to us from Help -> Email.

Every assistant in your dashboard can do this with you. Write "Connect my domain yourbusiness.com": it links the domain to your site, shows the two records to add, and checks them when you say "check".
